FAQ
Dog Training
How does your approach differ from other programs?
I train using a LIMA (Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive) approach. Utilizing a balance of rewards and corrections to strengthen and reward engagement and relationship.
My goal is to help you as owners implement training in a functional manner to create a healthier, happier land more confident lifestyle.
Will this fix/cure my dogs behaviours?
Training Programs are meant to show you and your dog what is possible and kickstart your life together by providing functional skills. There is no cure or quick fix for dog behaviour, you are required to maintain the training throughout and after the programs.
Why do you use E-collars?
High quality E-collars combined with proper conditioning and mindful use provide an effective, clear method of communication. They are supportive tools that allow dogs a calmer, happier and safer life.

What's the difference between a "shock collar" and an "E-collar"?
QUALITY MATTERS!
High quality E-collars have 100+ levels, meaning you can dial to an exact number required to communicate with your dog. Additionally, it is the same technology as a TENS unit - a muscle stimulator.
Low quality, cheap collars have fewer levels with a blunt technology. Going from a 3 to 4 on a high quality is a small shift but on a low quality collar this is an alarming jump. These collars are sometimes even labelled (by their companies) shock collars and I don't disagree.

Do you have experience with reactive dogs?
I work with many dogs who have various levels of reactivity. I know from experience that no two dogs are the same and each individual has their own needs and limits. I am committed to getting to know your dog, ensuring we are the right fit and working with their needs to provide the highest quality of care possible.
What is the booking process?
Please fill out the K9 Adventure Intake Form with as much detail as possible. Providing the most accurate information helps me get a feel for your dog, structure my packs and create an appropriate walking plan.
How do I know if this is the right fit for me and my dog?
I know that not every dog is meant for every situation and regardless of the screening process, we may not be the right fit! I offer a free meet & greet where we go over the intake form and your dogs abilities. From there we can book a trial walk which ensures your pup is comfortable with me before we move onto an adventure hike with additional distractions.
What is required before signing up?
Each pack member is required to be at least 6months old, up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered.
Additionally, each dog must have a harness with a back and front clip (my preference is the RC momentum), a collar with tags, have reliable recall and loose leash skills.
